Job description

Maran Dry Management Inc., one of the world’s leading ship management companies and part of Angelicoussis Group is looking for an experienced, motivated, and hardworking Projects Manager.

Key responsibilities


NEW BUILDING

  • Research on novel technologies.
  • Reviewing of new-building technical specifications.
  • Gathering operational experience and revising specifications as required.
  • Liaison and collaboration with the shipyard project team.
  • Coordination of the new-buildings plan approval process.
  • Evaluating makers and including them in the makers' list.
  • Liaising with selected equipment makers for commercial benefits.
  • Ensuring that all departments are kept aware of project key dates.
  • Liaison and collaboration with Class/ Flag administration for the preparation of required certification.
  • Liaison and collaboration with Site Manager.
  • Liaison and collaboration with charterer’s representatives (as applicable).
  • Ensuring on-time delivery of owner supply items.
  • Attendance during construction, sea trials, factory acceptance tests of equipment, etc.

RETROFIT PROJECTS

  • Evaluation of ship repair yards and subcontractors.
  • Liaising with selected subcontractors for the development of the engineering package.
  • Participation in the development of drydocking and ship repair specifications in collaboration with Fleet Managers.
  • Participation in the development of budgets for drydocking and retrofit projects in collaboration with Fleet Managers.
  • Agree on installation plan and retrofit schedule with selected ship repair yard.
  • Liaison and collaboration with key ship repair yard personnel.
  • Liaison and collaboration with class society representatives.
  • Control of construction plans and documentation.
  • Efficient logistical coordination of procured parts and equipment.
  • Support Senior Fleet Managers and Fleet Managers during drydocking and retrofit projects.
  • Planning of daily inspections in collaboration with the ship repair yard (when on-site).
  • Ensure implementation of agreed quality standards and specifications (when on-site).
  • Ensure that safe working practices are followed by the ship repair yard personnel (when on-site).
  • Familiarization and training of the crew with new equipment installed onboard.
  • Provide recommendations for design improvements based on on-site experience.
  • Perform research and studies for various issues which might be required for the vessels in service.

Job requirements

Candidate profile

  • Degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering.
  • At least 4-5 years of experience in New Building projects in a reputable company.
  • Fluent in English and Greek (oral and written).
  • Team spirit, multi-tasking, and crisis resolution ability.
  • Effective time management skills

This position requires frequent travel.
